GSF Car Parts started out way back in the 1970s, initially operating out of one half of a tumbledown shed in a Battersea salvage yard. However since then, GSF has grown to become the largest independent parts supplier in the UK.
GSF specialises in trade custom, but all retail customers can expect a warm welcome from its experienced and knowledgeable staff, stocking a huge range of parts for all makes of car and light commercial vehicles. Whether the customer is looking for original quality or a cheaper budget version, they can be sure of a great parts and great discounts.
Following its formation by Stan West in 1977 under the company name VeeWee, the business was purchased by wholesale suppliers Kontinental Auto Werke (KAW) in 1981, and Stan joined the management team. Shortly after in 1987, German and Swedish was established by Stan and business partner Maurice Forde.
In the year 2000 the company acquired Andyspares, adding French car parts to the range, and was renamed German Swedish and French. In the same year GSF also acquired Autocavan and URO automotive.
The company continued to thrive, and in 2003 Hans Motors joined GSF Car Parts, selling all makes parts to other factors. Then in 2005 GSF added an all makes range of parts to its specialist inventory and became GSF Car Parts. The company’s ongoing commitment to success resulted in the purchase of TDCS in 2006, enabling the sale of industry leading diagnostic equipment. Then just a few years later in 2009, the company completed several branch refurbishments and upgraded the whole company’s stock criteria.
The following year they signed up with several leading garage equipment providers to offer a market leading, garage equipment solution to support the existing diagnostics business. The Banbury, Leeds East (Regional Distribution Centre), Worcester, Letchworth and Kettering branches were also opened this year.
From 2011-12, GSF Bristol (Regional Distribution Centre), Middlesbrough, Gloucester, Bedford, Rochdale, Barnstaple, Finchley, Oxford, Shrewsbury, Milton Keynes and Torquay opened for business, accompanied by Basingstoke, Harlow and Taunton. These were followed by GSF Sittingbourne in 2013 with Tottenham following.
