M M Auto Services Ltd named Servicesure’s ‘Autocentre of the Year’ at eagerly anticipated evening ceremony

Servicesure has named M M Auto Services Ltd in Dundee as its ‘Autocentre of the Year’ during an exclusive awards evening which took place at Coombe Abbey on Thursday 11 April.

Launched last year, the competition was created to shine a light on best practice and performance from within the Servicesure Autocentre network.

Around 80 guests – comprising of garage winners, sponsors and managers from The Parts Alliance – were in attendance, dining on a three-course meal as the winners were announced.

As the attendees dined, new President and COO Neil Croxson spoke on the development of The Parts Alliance, before handing over to Paul Dineen, Head of Garage Programmes, to present the awards.

Speaking at the event, Paul said: “Tonight’s winners are a real credit to the Servicesure network, and it’s a pleasure to be able to pay tribute to your professionalism and hard work.

“The network continues to expand rapidly: in October 2018, Manor Motor Company became the 500th member, and numbers have since risen to 540 garages.

“It’s an exciting time for the business, and it’s reassuring to know that we have garages in our network setting such a high standard.”

Each shortlisted garage was recognised for their excellence during the ceremony: Burntwood Auto Centre received the ‘Best Newcomer’ award and Simon Graeme Auto Service Centre took home The Motor Ombudsman’s ‘Customer Service’ trophy, while Lowgate Garage, Chester Auto Services, Gordon’s Garage and A1 Motorist Centre were the winners in their respective regions.

After earlier awarding garage owner Murdo MacIntosh with the ‘Winner for Scotland’ prize, the judges also named M M Auto Services Ltd as the ‘National Winner’ for 2019.

Taking to the stage, a delighted Murdo thanked his hard working staff and loyal customers, as well as paying tribute to Duncan Davidson and Dingbro for their continued support.

The awards were sponsored by a number of Servicesure partners including Bollington Insurance, The Motor Ombudsman, Autotech Recruit, Auto Service Finance, Garage Services Online, Slicker Recycling and Our Virtual Academy.

Servicesure appoints Bollington as new insurance provider

Servicesure has appointed Bollington as its insurance provider, supplying an exclusive comprehensive cover package for the national garage network.

The partnership commences on Monday 1st April, with Bollington’s team of local account managers providing a carefully-tailored, personal service which establishes each business’ individual insurance requirements.

An initial site visit will be arranged to run through each garage’s needs, with Bollington able to assist in areas such as road risks cover, premises cover, employers’ liability up to £10M, public ad products liability up to £5M, tools cover, engineering inspections, directors’ and officers’ insurance and business interruption cover, in addition to anything else the garage might need to be covered for.

With access to a range of insurers, Bollington offers insurance schemes that aren’t available elsewhere. This includes plans which offer savings of up to 10% on the garage’s existing renewal with their current insurer, insurance premium rebates of up to 10% to reward good claims experience, cover for up to £2,500 of contents in customer vehicles (subject to insurer and terms).

Pauline Brookes, Bollington’s UK Motor Trade Manager, explained: “Bollington has worked within the motor trade since it was founded over 45 years ago, starting off insuring local traders and garages as a general insurance broker before gradually building to now become one of the largest independent insurance brokers in the UK.

“We have a nationwide network of motor trade account managers, and because of our size and reputation we are able to negotiate great deals with insurers, while still retaining a friendly, personal service with named people managing and looking after the running of client accounts.”

Additionally, Bollington can also provide specialist risk management to help garages look after their health and safety arrangements, and its claims hotline is available 24-hours a day, every day of the year.

“Bollington’s industry credentials, along with its flexibility to tailor its service to create a bespoke package for each business in our network makes them the perfect business partner for Servicesure,” said Paul Dineen, Head of Garage Programmes at The Parts Alliance.

The Parts Alliance looks forward to Automechanika

The Parts Alliance is looking forward to returning to Automechanika on 6th to 8th June having also supported last year’s UK debut of the world-leading supply chain trade event.

The Parts Alliance will be at stand 18D10. They believe that for a trading group of their scale, Automechanika offers a unique opportunity to meet a number of different objectives through a single initiative.

Last year’s show saw The Parts Alliance welcoming many prospective international suppliers onto their stand. Additional to these valuable supply chain networking opportunities, Marketing Manager David Bowen highlights the chance to meet with garage owners too.

“We’d like to invite all garage owners and technicians to come and see us on the stand to find out about what we can offer to help boost their business,” said David. “We are confident that we have a solution for garages, workshops and national organisations and would like to meet on the stand.”

The foundation is a full range of parts from leading OE and matching quality brands to support garages with a complete parts and consumables solution.

Beyond that, there’s a class-leading service proposition too. This includes the GS Onestop Garage Management and Allicat online electronic catalogue and parts ordering systems. Both platforms can ‘seriously streamline’ business management and help to eliminate issues around wrong parts ordering according to David.

Representative from Servicesure will be there throughout too, explaining the benefits of joining the UK’s faster growing – and most flexible – network of independent garages.

Last year a number of motor factors also took the opportunity to discreetly register interest in opportunities to join The Parts Alliance, something they can enquire about on the stand once again.

Servicesure set for record-breaking year as 50 join since start of 2017

Servicesure Autocentres, The Parts Alliance garage programme, is seeing members joining in unprecedented numbers.

By mid April over 50 new garages had joined the national network in 2017 alone. The rate of joining has consistently averaged 15 garages per month since the latter part of 2016, marking a clearly established trend rather than a spike in interest.

“We’re delighted with the speed at which the Servicesure network is developing,” said Paul Dineen, Head of Garage Programmes at The Parts Alliance. “There’s no ‘one thing’ but the primary attractions appear to be our growing range of service suppliers, the national warranty and the branding awareness packages.”

More Servicesure Autocentres are now opting to take up the instantly recognisable branding suite, which Paul simply believes reflects trends in the wider market.

“Garages are recognising that we can offer the best of both worlds,” he said. “They not only retain their independence, as Servicesure’s not a restrictive concept, but they also gain the strength that comes from aligning with an established national brand and that’s reassuring to motorists.

“It’s not just about image, it’s the substance behind Servicesure that counts with the initiatives we bring to capture and retain business in a competitive market.”

The Parts Alliance say Servicesure is amongst the best garage programmes in the UK and is not as rigid as many others, meaning garages can flex it to fit their own circumstances.

“Not every garage operates in exactly the same way,” said Paul. “It’s about recognising these differences and supporting the garages whilst ensuring they all meet the Servicesure standards.”

Recruiting quality garages to maintain these standards is essential; it underpins Servicesure’s unique ‘national warranty’ – which drivers can redeem with any Servicesure garage anywhere in the UK.

A new ‘Brakesure’ concept was launched in January to offer motorists lifetime replacement on brake pads. Trust is placed with member garages to choose when to offer the incentive to qualifying customers.

Servicesure launches new website

As part of the Parts Alliance’s investment in marketing the UK’s fastest growing garage network, the new much improved Servicesure Autocentre website is now live. The network has also ‘gone social’, being launched on a variety of social media platforms.

Together this is us supercharging the way we communicate with the garages who are our members and with the motorists who are their customers.

The new design puts the consumer experience first; the website is much more motorist friendly, easy to move around and packed with helpful features and interesting information.

With Servicesure now on Facebook and Twitter, we and our garages can really engage consumers and have a two-way conversation with them, moving us on from just being a booking platform.

Features on www.servicesureautocentres.com, which is mobile and tablet compatible, include Find a Garage, get a quote, book a service, customer reviews, news, details about the Servicesure National Warranty, videos and offers. There’s also a text reminder service for MOTs and other garage visits.

  • Complete redesign – it’s been given a more modern ‘look and feel’, with new content catering for the driving public, garage members and prospects.
  • Advanced megadrop menu – for enhanced navigation and accessibility to new content. Helping website visitors on their customer journeys.
  • Extended website functionality – including an Internal User Review system, allowing visitors to submit reviews directly through the website (via a moderation facility).
  • Enhanced garage profile page – now includes a new About Us section and an image of the garage, the facility for the garages to edit their own details (such as services offered, About Us etc), moderated reviews (via the website, not Motor Codes) and displaying Motor Codes reviews within a widget and a facility for visitors to submit their reviews to Motor Codes.
  • Find a garage – with opening times, the location and website address.

Through the website and social channels we are really well placed to remind drivers this is a national group with a national guarantee that delivers the highest standards of customer service. It’s Servicesure taking a lead in bringing consumers and garages closer together, developing trust and loyalty between the two.
